What are your feelings for bats? Some hate them, some are scared of them while others are fascinated by them.
Bats can be very useful, eating up to 8000 mosquitoes in a single night, but at the same time, homeowners that have bats living in their attic aren’t too thrilled about it.
Bats in the attic can make quite a mess, producing a lot of excrement, or guano, which could carry disease. They also make it a struggle to get into the attic, since disturbing their sleep can cause quite a stir.
So, what can you do? One way to prevent bats from making your attic their home is to block it up really well. Find the entryways that the bats have used and seal them up. If you are forced to do this with some bats still in the attic, you can install something called a one-way excursion device that allows bats to exit the attic but not come back in.
